Not thinking too much about it, i downloaded it, seeing as how most songs for Cowboy Bebop are superb, and when I listened to it....damn, THIS is the kind of music that ive been looking for ever since the I was about 8. My dad brought me up into Jazz. Soon after I went into Smooth Jazz, and then Techno. As I explored these catagories individually, the more then seemed to be missing something. If the techno didnt have the sending melody of Jazz, then the Jazz didnt have the itchy emotion of Techno. Then those songs such as Monkey Jazz and Piano Black Remix, (wich im listening to right now)wich are PERFECT in EVERY way that music can bring bliss to ones afternoon or evening. I have yet to listen to all your songs Ian, but so far I can honestly say I havnt found ONE I DONT like. Unlike an artists CD of 23 that Ill purchase just for 2 or 3 songs. No, this "Tech-Jazz" is the "revelation" of my happiness that I have only heard that music can do to one soul. I heard it on Patrick Forges KIss 100 show in London back in 1997 and still have the taped radio show that I managed to save where he's playing it. This tape is now very, very worn from listening to tattoo Jazz and the midnightsunshne in my life will be all the duller if i can't hear this track again!! Any idea where it's available? Phhhhhhh!!! Just bought Desert Scores yesterday in Carbon, the best record I've bought in ages (well since I bought Curtis Mayfield's debut album anyway!). Broken 3/4 techno. Maaaaaaan. The jazz techno waltz. Here to stay. Already looking to buy more stuff. All I'd heard before I bought this record was the Days To Come remix and a damn good reputation; now I've seem for myself. Hello Ian, I was looking for songs for Cowboy Bebop when I came across your remix for Piano Black. Not thinking too much about it, i downloaded it, seeing as how most songs for Cowboy Bebop are superb, and when I listened to it....damn, THIS is the kind of music that ive been looking for ever since the I was about 8. My dad brought me up into Jazz. Soon after I went into Smooth Jazz, and then Techno. As I explored these catagories individually, the more then seemed to be missing something. If the techno didnt have the sending melody of Jazz, then the Jazz didnt have the itchy emotion of Techno. Then those songs such as Monkey Jazz and Piano Black Remix, (wich im listening to right now)wich are PERFECT in EVERY way that music can bring bliss to ones afternoon or evening. I have yet to listen to all your songs Ian, but so far I can honestly say I havnt found ONE I DONT like. Unlike an artists CD of 23 that Ill purchase just for 2 or 3 songs. No, this "Tech-Jazz" is the "revelation" of my happiness that I have only heard that music can do to one soul. And so I would like to thank you for introducing me into this new level of...."Zen" if you will...and wish you the best of fortune in the future, and god bless.

Hello there. I am a wopping Ian O'Brien fan with a mission of Mercy type request. I'm trying to track down a CD or Vinyl copy of Tattoo Jazz, the 97 release as it is one of my favourite songs of all time. I heard it on Patrick Forges KIss 100 show in London back in 1997 and still have the taped radio show that I managed to save where he's playing it. This tape is now very, very worn from listening to tattoo Jazz and the midnightsunshne in my life will be all the duller if i can't hear this track again!! Any idea where it's available? I brought Desert Scores when it was released and from the first few seconds of Mad Mike Disease I knew it was going to be something special. If I hadn't heard Where does the Past End....Begin? on Gigantic Days, I would have sworn it was some underground work by Herbie. I just got my hands on the album, and I can't get enough. It gives me this kooky vibe every time I listen to it, like summer has just ended, the sun is setting earlier and everthing is just getting dreary. The upside is that the beat goes on. To Ian: Get your ass back in the GT studio soon!

It's quiet out here, I can even hear echo's of my own voice, bad thing! But... my cousin, who usually has a bad taste, is now, after listening to an Ian o' Brien's track, a hardcore Ian O'Brien fan, and I think that's some compliment.
